Micronesian leaders converge in Guam for 17th Chief Executives Summit

The leaders of the nine jurisdictions of Micronesia have gathered in Guam for the 17th Micronesian Chief Executives' Summit.

The biennial summit involves the Presidents of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands, the Governors of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the four states within the FSM.

With a theme of building a globally competitive Micronesia economy, the summit is set to focus on efforts to increase regional co-operation.

Representatives have developed an agenda of discussions on topics such as economic development, workforce development, healthcare, tourism, climate change and renewable energy.
