The Cook Islands is aiming to make its London Olympics team its largest ever.
Three athletes have already qualified to represent the country in London with another six showing the potential to do so.
Athlete Patricia Taea will compete in the 100 metres sprint, Ella Nicholas will represent the Cooks in canoeing and Celeste Brown in the swimming pool.
There are hopes that others will qualify in yachting, weightlifting, swimming and canoeing.
The Cooks previous biggest team included four athletes.
