Samoa's Parliamentary Advocacy Group for Healthy Living has closed five schools because of insanitary conditions.

The group closed the schools after inspections found poor sanitation standards including unclean toilets and unhealthy drinking water.

In addition the 2 storey Moata'a Primary School which is very old, reported three students had fallen through wooden floors and sustained physical injuries.

The principal, Savali Tu'uga Leota, says a letter was sent by the Ministry of Health last Friday deeming the building to be unsafe.
