The acting Director for the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources Development in Kiribati, Nenenteiti Teariki-Ruatu, says the research is helpful.

"This research they've been undergoing within the Kiribati waters are really useful in building up also the information knowledge that the government can consider for its decisions regarding these coral reef species and its reaction to climate change."

Nenenteiti Teariki-Ruatu says at the same time she's cautious that there is still a lot of research to be carried out on the impacts of climate change.
