Woodroffe fails in Samoa Law Society appeal

A lawyer, who works in both Samoa and Auckland, has failed in her bid to overturn a Samoa Law Society ruling that she had acted unprofessionally and intemperately.

Leulua'iali'i Olinda Woodroffe had appealed to the Supreme Court of Samoa after the Law Society disciplinary committee fined her 430 US dollars, criticised her behaviour but did not punish her further.

But the court dismissed the appeal saying the penalties were not excessive and the committee could have exacted a more severe sanction.
