The Commonwealth Heathcare Corporation in the Northern Mariana Islands has lost 25 percent of its staff in the wake of resignations, retirements, and emergency workforce cuts enforced by the organization.

The number of employees has dropped from 600 to 450.

The decline is expected to substantially reduce the corporation's personnel costs.

This week's total personnel count of 450 is expected to decrease further once the emergency reduction in force is completed.

The corporation shells out 800,000 US dollars for wages, salaries, and allotments each pay period.

The corporation has opted not to fill several vacancies, further reducing the organization's personnel costs.
