Kia Orana Air delay disappoints Cook Islands minister

5:15 pm on 11 April 2012

The Cook Islands Finance Minister Mark Brown says he is disappointed that the domestic airline Kia Orana Air still has not secured space at Rarotonga Airport.

The airline has been attempting to reserve an airport hangar and office space in Rarotonga for months.

Attempts to get the venture off the ground are now into their third year.

The Cook Islands News reports Mr Brown as saying there needs to be more urgent action.

He says is is not ideal to have such lengthy delays affecting businesses seeking to introduce services that will improve an industry such as air travel.
