Vanuatu to help Solomons with Arts Festival preparations

7:09 pm on 12 April 2012

Vanuatu is to help Solomon Islands with one container of beef, fibreglass water tanks and 10,000 US dollars.

The director of Vanuatu Cultural Center, Marcelin Ambong, says the assistance fulfils a Vanuatu government promise to its Solomon Islands counterpart and the Pacific Art Festival Committee.

The assistance will help Solomon Islands host the Arts Festival in July.

He says the Solomons needs fibreglass water tanks to store good quality water for the participants.

Mr Ambong has also called on the Vanuatu government to commit itself to securing 160,000 US dollars to send 67 participants to represent Vanuatu at the festival.
