Sport: Fiji rugby trial to double as fundraiser

10:30 am on 2 May 2012

The Fiji Rugby Union is organising an East verses West match with the dual purpose as a national trial to select a squad for next month's Pacific Nations Cup and a fundraiser for those affected by the March floods in the islands.

The Union's website says the fundraiser notion was raised at last Saturday's AGM with delegates stating families of rugby players in the west were greatly affected by the floods.

Local and overseas players will be in contention for the game to be played in a fortnight in Nausori.
