Cooks and NZ join in supporting civil society groups

12:36 pm on 4 May 2012

The Cook Islands government and the New Zealand aid programme are combining their funds supporting civil society groups in an effort to improve administration and cut costs.

Decisions are still to be made on how the new Social Impact Fund will be structured and run, and which organisations will be eligible for the funding.

It is set to come into operation in July but before then the views of civil society will be sought, with a steering group meeting with groups around the country throughout this month.
