American Samoa has been admitted as a full member of the International Rugby Board at a meeting in Dublin.
The President of the Federation of Oceania Rugby Unions, Lefau Harry Schuster, conveyed the news to the Chairman of the American Samoa Rugby Union, Governor Togiola Tulafono on Wednesday evening.
Lefau says last month's Marist International Sevens showed that the territory can host international tournaments.
