The American Samoa Rugby Union has lifted the suspension on the Nu'uuli Rugby Club and allowed its teams to return to competition.

The Nu'uuli Club was suspended from all ASRU tournaments for five years after members of the club assaulted Samoan referee Ponifasio Vasa in July of last year.

Vasa was officiating the shield match between Nu'uuli and Avele.

Nu'uuli's application for readmission was approved by the ASRU board last month, although a life ban for all members of the club convicted by the court in the assault of the referee still stands.

Meanwhile the Nu'uli club has until October 28 to pay the balance of a 5,000 US dollar fine for the incident, or their readmission will be revoked.
