Samoa independence events boost Inter-Samoan flight traffic

The rush is on for the inter-Samoa island airlines to provide seats for hundreds of travellers heading to Samoa for the 50th Independence celebrations.

An Inter Island Air spokesperson says it has added three extra flights to its normal daily schedule of three fights up until June the first.

The company says the bulk of its travelers are village groups invited to entertain during Samoa's independence celebrations

Polynesian Air is bracing for a record number of travellers.

The local station manager, Tuailemafua Toe Loia, says from tomorrow, they will be putting on eight to 13 flights a day continuing until June the 1st.
