Fourth candidate in race for American Samoa's US Congress seat

A fourth person has announced their candidacy for American Samoa's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kereti Matautia Jr. says he is running for the congressional seat under the theme A Rising Tide Lifts all Boats, hoping to unseat long-time incumbent Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin.

In a public announcement, Mr Matautia Jr. says he will be available in the coming days, weeks and months before the November general election to discuss, debate and share issues that are paramount in this election.

A graduate of Manu'a High School in American Samoa, Mr Matautia holds a law degree from South California Institute of Law.
