American Samoa artists to ask for Government help for festival costs

8:18 am on 6 June 2012

The American Samoa Arts Council plans to request government assistance for funds to travel to the Pacific Arts Festival in the Solomon Islands next month

The director, Leala Pili, says the group didn't raise enough money from a raffle to cover airfares.

She says they've made a few changes to their travel plans to reduce their expenses.

A 50 member group of dancers, handicraft makers, painters and staff will leave the territory on June the 26.
