The long-serving secretary-general of the Cook Islands Red Cross, Nikki Rattle, was last week sworn in as the new Speaker of Parliament.
The Speaker's position was made vacant by the death of Sir Geoffrey Henry.
The trained nurse is the second woman to serve as Cook Islands Speaker.
