Natapei says anxiety high in Vanuatu over Kilman's policies

The deputy leader of the opposition in Vanuatu, Edward Natapei, says the coalition government of Sato Kilman is suffering a crisis of credibility and accountability.

Mr Natapei says its failure to explain significant changes in government structure and policies is causing considerable anxiety among Vanuatu people and key development partners.

He also says there's mounting concern over what he says is a continued lack of accountability over recent events impacting national security.

Mr Natapei says confidence has reached a critical low point with no new investments flowing into the country and no aid partners willing to risk putting tax payers money into Vanuatu during Mr Kilman's watch.

Mr Natapei says there is no evidence that Mr Kilman's initiatives like the roving ambassador to Russia and a financial services office in Hong Kong are working.
