A Samoan seaman had been found dead on a cruise ship sailing between Sweden and Britain.

He is Fala Seuifalemua of Fausaga, Safata, who was a seaman on the Italian cruise liner, MS Opera.

The General Manager of Samoa Shipping Services, Sala Theodore To'alepai, has confirmed his death to the Samoa Observer.

Sala says police in Britain are investigating the death and declined to comment any further.

Mr Seuifalemua was among Samoan seamen recruited by the Mediterranean Sea Company in Italy in 2009 through Samoa Shipping Services.
