Vanuatu has made a winning start in their bid to qualify for the London Olympics beach volleyball draw.

They've beaten Hong Kong three games to nil in their opening match at the Asian Continental Cup tournament in China, from which the winner will qualify for the London Games.

The pairing Joyce Joshua and Linline Matauatu won the first match 21-10 21-19 before Miller Elwin and Henriette Iatika won the next two games, also in straight sets, to secure victory.

Vanuatu will now face China in the first quarter final later on Friday.
