Sport: 'Ikale Tahi hoping to starve Fiji of ball

7:43 am on 23 June 2012

With the home side possessing plenty of pace out wide, Tonga captain Taniela Moa says the key to victory in this afternoon's Pacific Nations Cup clash against Fiji in Lautoka is simple - don't give them the ball.

The final match of this year's PNC tournament is effectively a dead rubber, with Manu Samoa regaining the title last weekend after beating Japan.

Taniela Moa says with test spots on the line motivation won't be a problem for players.

He says with Fiji capable of attacking from all over park the game plan for the 'Ikale Tahi is simple.

"Try and keep the ball in hand and just don't give it to the Fijians because every Tongan knows what they're like. Fijians are always an exciting team to watch - their speed is out wide and they'll try and test us - but I think we've got good enough guys here to cover them, most of their sevens players."
