The assistant chief executive officer of Samoa's Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development Tootooalii Roger Stanley has been charged with nine counts of theft, forgery and falsifying documents.

Tootooalii is a longtime President of the Fa'afafine Association and advocate of transvestites' rights.

He appeared in Court yesterday and his lawyer Alex Su'a entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Chief Justice Tiavaasue Falefatu Sapolu remanded him on bail on the condition that he surrender all his travel documents and sign in at the police station at Apia twice a week.

The matter has been adjourned to the 3rd of December for hearing.
