Selina Napa wins Cooks by-election

Selina Napa has won a by-election in Titikaveka on Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, defeating her brother by a narrow margin.

Ms Napa, representing the opposition Democratic Party got 297 votes, beating her brother, Teariki Matenga of the Cook Islands Party, by 14 votes.

An independent candidate, Teava Iro, received 104 votes.

The by-election followed the death of the opposition leader Robert Wigmore.
