6:49 pm on 29 June 2012

Reports from Papua New Guinea say the findings of the Commission of Inquiry into the sinking of the Rabaul Queen won't be released until a new parliament in in place.

The Commission's report is with the caretaker Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, who has decided against its immediate publication.

The commission, which sat in April and May, was tasked with finding out what caused the tragedy, in which more than 140 people are believed to have died.

It heard allegations of arrogance, apathy, complacency and incompetence from the company and captain of the ship.
