Tonga marks 100 days since King's death

100 days since the burial of Tonga's former King, George Tupou V, is being marked today with the placing of traditional decorative volcanic rocks or kilikili on his tomb at Mala'ekula.

Radio Tonga reports that the kilikili are washed with sea water and oil before being put in a basket called and 'Oa and laid on to the tomb.

King Tupou the 6th will be joined by other members of the Royal family for the ceremony.

Today also marks the end of the mourning period and wearing of black attire.
