ANZ Amerika Samoa Bank in American Samoa plans to discontinue its mobile banking branch in October.

In 2006, the bank expanded its banking service, with the launch of two mobile banking trailers stationed at specified locations during the week on the main island of Tutuila.

Cannery workers were targeted by this service.

However, in a letter to customers, the bank says that following a study of the bank's customers branch use, as well as their product and service needs, ANZ has made a strategic decision to discontinue the mobile bank branch effective from October the 15th.

It says the changes do not affect any bank accounts and the two bank branches remain open during regular business hours to assist customers.
