CNMI House slashes Governor's budget proposal

The House of Representatives in the Northern Marianas has cut the 2013 budget bill put forward by the Governor, Benigno R. Fitial.

The House has given the Public School System 28 million which is almost a million less than the governor's revised submission.

It has slashed the executive's allocation to the Northern Marianas College by 400,000 US dollars to 4.7 million dollars.

The Marianas Visitors Authority is being given 1.5 million, down from the governor's 2.1 million dollars.

More than 1.4 million US dollars has been slashed from the Medicaid reimbursement budget.
