The High Court in Fiji has granted leave to the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to issue contempt proceedings against the Citizens Constitutional Forum.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the contempt proceedings rises out of an article titled 'Fiji the Rule of Law Lost' which was published in April 2012 in the CCF's quarterly letter.

The article is based on the findings of the chair of the Law Society Charity.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum told Fiji village the proceedings against the CCF and its executive director Reverend Akuila Yabaki will be called in the High Court on the 27th of this month.

The Citizens Constitutional Forum is a well established NGO in Fiji and is one of the groups involved in Fiji's constitution consultations.
