Sport: Family atmosphere for Pacific teams in Games Village

10:42 am on 24 July 2012

Solomon Islands are still waiting on two athletes to arrive in the Games Village but Chef de Mission Ronald Talasasa says those already there have settled well.

Judoka Tomy Lomo and sprinter Chris Walasa are immersed in the Village and continuing their training.

Fellow sprinter Pauline Kwalea is still in Manchester while flag bearer Jenlyn Wini is also yet to reach London.

Ronald Talasasa says all the Pacific countries are based in the same area of the village

"We live together next to each other with our flags flying above our windows. Everytime we meet each other it's just like someone from your own home, someone from your own country meeting another so it's really a closely knitted family here."
