10:21 am on 25 July 2012

Food security and the availability of locally grown produce is the focus of this week's Farm Fair in American Samoa.

The fair which opens in two days includes farmers and individuals who are in the business of handicrafts to display their local produce and products.

The Department of Agriculture's deputy director Peter Gurr says the purpose of the farm fair is to bring people together, not just the farmers, but the general public.

He says the fair is all about food security, food safety and what is available in the territory when it comes to locally grown produce.
