Sport: Solomons striker Totori eager to find the net in pre-season

Having achieved his dream of signing with the Wellington Phoenix, Solomon Islands striker Benjamin Totori says his next aim is simple - score goals.

The 26 year old, who starred at the recent Oceania Nations Cup in Honiara, is slowly adjusting to the cooler Wellington climate and says he's been working on adding some bulk to his frame to prepare himself for the physicality of the A-League.

The Phoenix team leave for Australia on Friday for the start of their pre-season tour, which also takes in India, and Totori says he's looking forward to finding the back of the net.

"For me I just want to score goals - that's what the club brought me here for - so just score goals and assists as well and help the team win. Anytime you put me on the pitch I just want to perform and help the team, in any other way - on the bench or play - it doesn't matter as long as I help the team to win, that's my goal."

Benjamin Totori says he hopes his achievements will help young players in the Pacific believe they too can make it to a professional league.
