Sport: Australians to the fore at Junior Tennis Champs

10:11 am on 17 August 2012

It will be an all-Australian affair on finals day at the Oceania Junior Tennis Champs in Lautoka on Friday.

In the boys draw second seed Harry Bouchier will start favourite after ending the run of Marc Polmans in straight sets.

He'll face the fifth seed Jacob Grills who advanced in a walkover after Daniel Guccione withdrew.

In the girls draw, another giant-killing run came to an end after Georgiana Ruhrig beat Zoe Hives in straight sets.

Hives had previously toppled the fifth and top seeds but was no match for the number three seed Ruhrig, who will meet Lizette Cabrera in the final.

Another two Australians, Jack Lyttle and Lawrence Bataljin, will playoff for the boys plate title, while Papua New Guinea's Marcia Tere Apisah will meet Australia's Annabelle Andrinopoulos in the girls plate final.
