A disaster official in Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea is rejecting local media reports that flooding in the province has caused widespread damage and left thousands homeless.
But Charlie Masange does say that in the Finschhafen, Sialum and Tewai-Siassi districts some bridges have been wrecked and food gardens destroyed.
He says the provincial disaster office is sending relief supplies of water and rice to these areas.
