Sport: PNG target strong finish at U19 World Champs

Papua New Guinea hope to avoid any hangover effects in Thursday's 13th place playoff match at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup.

The Garamuts won their first ever match against a test playing country on Tuesday, beating Zimbabwe by 12 runs.

Today they face a Nepal team who they beat only two weeks ago but coach Peter Anderson says they won't be taking anything for granted.

"Very very important that we certainly continue. We've been on a high with yesterday's game - we've just got to front up tomorrow and make sure we put all our facets together and it would be fantastic if we can finish with every part of our team following our plan. They're a good little team Nepal - they've got some real good spinners and they're really good fighters. We can't take it easy, we've got get out there and hit the ground running and let's finish up on a fantastic tour."

Meanwhile New Zealand take on India for the right to face host nation Australia in the competition final.
