Fiji's interim Attorney General has encouraged local Fiji businesses people to invest more into the economy.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum's comments came during the official opening of a new fruit juice bottling plant for the Tappoos Group of Companies in Lautoka last week.
The Fiji Times newspaper reports Mr Sayed-Khaiyum saying the interim government is focused on providing the right investment and commercial environments for business houses and would-be entrepreneurs to participate in.
He says the purchase of the new bottling plant was also possible with the government's decision not to charge duty on imported machinery.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum says the reality is there is enormous potential competition in Fiji, and the competition is not something that should be deterred.
