Samoa's National Council of Churches general secretary, Reverend Ma'auga Motu, has praised the late founder of the Unification Church, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, for his contribution to peace.

The general secretary says he has relayed condolences to Reverend Moon's wife and children on behalf of the National Council of Churches.

Reverend Moon briefly visited Samoa in 2005 and was greeted by the prime minister and government leaders as well as members of the council of churches.

Reverend Motu says the late spiritual leader contributed many good ideas for every church to consider.
