The police in Samoa say they are in the final stages of an investigation into an anonymous letter alleging widespread corruption within the police force.
The Assistant Police Commissioner, Le'aupepe Fatu Pula, confirms the un-signed letter claims that there are questionable practices within the Ministry of Police, especially at Tafaigata Prison.
There are also allegations of conflicts of interest and immoral behaviour among senior police officers.
Le'aupepe Fatu Pula says the investigation is expected to be completed by next week.
"Police officers are involved from the professional standards unit, and a member from the Ombudsman's office are investigating this. We can only find out the truth once the investigations are completed. Cover all allegations raised in that anonymous letter."
Le'aupepe Fatu Pula says once the investigation has been completed, it will be referred to the Police Commissioner.
He says if the author of the letter wants to come forward, that would be good.
