Fiji's Immigration Department is investigating a case of human trafficking after it was approached by an Asian woman who says she's been forced into prositution.
The woman told the Immigration Director, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa, she and two other Chinese women were forced into prostitution after they arrived in Fiji last week.
The Immigration Department was tipped off after the woman approached a local for help.
Major Vuniwaqa told Fiji Village the women had been falsely promised work in Fiji, but their travel documents were taken from them as soon as they arrived.
Following a raid on a Suva hotel, Fiji Police have begun questioning the three women, two Asian men, and a man who holds a Fiji passport.
