An opposition MP in Samoa has attacked the public broadcaster 2AP saying its bias for airing what he says are defamatory comments by the prime minister.
Levaopolo Talatonu says during Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi's weekly interview, he deliberately pronounced his title in a disrespectful manner.
Levaopolo, who has written to the CEO of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Technology, says the station is a public asset and not to be used only by Tuilaepa and his ruling HRPP party for political propaganda.
He says the disrespectful pronunciation of his matai title by Tuilaepa caused great concern and disappointment to his family, his village and also his constituency.
He has urged the CEO to consider letting the opposition respond to several issues raised by the prime minister in his weekly interview.
Levaopolo says he is considering taking the matter further through legal action.
