Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been assured by the British government that it will guarantee his safety during his upcoming visit to the United Kingdom.
This comes in response to the announcement of a reward offered for anyone able to place the President under citizen arrest for allegedly orchestrating human rights abuses in Papua.
The UK-based Free West Papua Campaign has offered an 80-thousand US dollar reward to anyone who places President Yudhoyono under citizen's arrest during his UK visit between October the 31st and November the 2nd.
The Jakarta Globe reports presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha saying the President has been assured that British police won't let such a thing happen.
Mr Pasha says the reward offer has caused "discomfort" as the President has been invited to visit by Queen Elizabeth.
