The jailed former Solomon Islands MP, Mark Kemakeza, has decided not to further pursue his appeal case.
Kemakeza was earlier this year jailed for 14 months after being found guilty of misusing public funds.
The Solomon Star reports his lawyer has told the court his client intends to abandon the appeal against his conviction and sentence.
A date for the by-election in his constituency is yet to be decided.
