Vanuatu's Head of State Iolu Johnson Abbil has re-appointed Arthur Caulton as Acting Commissioner of Police.
In the latest in a row at the top of the police force, the former commissioner, Joshua Bong was fired on Friday.
Mr Bong says the caretaker Minister of Home Affairs, George Wells has suspended ten high ranking Police and Vanuatu Mobile Force Officers.
The ten were believed to have been involved in the recent arrests of Mr Bong and five senior police officers and a former chairman of the Vanuatu Police Service Commission.
Mr Bong says all the suspended officers, including the Head of the VMF, Lieutenant Colonel Aru Maralau were recommended for suspension by the Acting Commissioner of Police.
