Samoa official suspended for PSC probe

1:35 pm on 8 October 2012

Samoa's assistant chief executive officer heading the fisheries division has been suspended while the Public Service Commission is conducting an internal investigation into allegations of breaches of the PSC code of conduct.

The CEO of the PSC, Naea Beth Onesemo, does not want to reveal the nature of allegations raised in a letter from a fisheries employee because it could jeopardise the investigation.

The PSC chief executive says a report will determine what decision will be made about the suspended officer.
