Samoa and American Samoa have agreed to a land swap.
Samoa will allocate a one acre property near the capital Apia for American Samoa to set up an office and American Samoa will reciprocate.
Samoa's Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi had asked for land in Tafuna to build its consular office.
At present Samoa is leasing office space in a building in Fagatogo for its Consulate Office.
The land exchange was agreed to during the inter-Samoa talks held in Pago Pago yesterday.
On immigration, American Samoa has agreed to investigate issuing 14 day permits for visitors from Samoa on arrival in the territory instead of pre-departure application.
Samoa is continuing entry visas for US nationals from American Samoa but has agreed to waive the transit permit fee for travelers from American Samoa for onward travel within 24 hours.
Samoa also requested American Samoa extend certificates of identity beyond six months to facilitate international travel to Samoa. The American Samoa Attorney General will look into the request.
