The New Caledonian government has decided to fine a wholesaler for violating rules about billing and refunding suppliers.

The administration has now ordered the company SCIE to pay 750,000 US dollars, which is the maximum fine that can be imposed.

The government says the company failed to explain its activities.

This is the first time a company has been fined for such an infraction.
