Swift Air executives want CNMI racketeering case dropped

Four executives from failed company Swift Air have filed for a 50 million US dollar lawsuit in the Northern Marianas against them to be dismissed.

The four - Donald Stukes, Jeffrey Conry, Hank Tobert and Boris Van Lier - were sued by Saipan Air, a Northern Marianas airline that failed to take off in July because Swift Air failed to deliver promised planes.

The defendants admit they received more than one million US dollars from Saipan Air, but no personal gain was made from the money.

Their defence lawyer Michael White has asked for the racketeering lawsuit to be dropped because of a lack of personal jurisdiction in the CNMI.
