The American Samoa Chief Elections Officer, Soliai Tuipine, says the selection of a House representative for Swains Island will be made at a meeting of people of Swains island descent at the office on Saturday.

The selection is made by the majority wish of those attending.

The Swains seat in the House of Representatives has always been held by a member of the Jennings family.

The current delegate Alex Jennings has served two terms and is the chairman of the House Committee on Commerce.
