Samoa's Ministry of Revenue has collected 208 million US dollars worth of revenue through taxes and duties this year.
But its Chief Executive Officer, Pitolau Lusia Sefo-Leau has told the Samoa Observer the target is 218 million US dollars next year.
Pitolau who has been reappointed for a second term says despite the fact that there is a global financial crisis, Samoa's revenue is still growing and will continue to rise with the people's support.
During her first term she introduced a new code of conduct for staff to ensure the proper dealing with money and goods that come into the country.
She says in the past three years, due to the drive of the ministry to ensure people paid their taxes, there have been significant increases in revenue.
