The chairman of Vanuatu's Electoral Commission says it has deployed all necessary materials and personnel for next Tuesday's general election.

To all but one of Vanuatu's six provinces, the Commission has dispatched polling materials with the national patrol boat, the RVS Tukoro.

In the case of Tafea province, the materials are being flown by Air Vanuatu.

John Taleo says the Commission is running on time and well prepared to hold this election.

"We already started yesterday, deploying all the ballot boxes. So everything is under control at the moment, polling officers already deployed to the islands, all the way from Vila to Torba, everybody's on correct standby. So everything's under control at the moment."
