4:34 pm on 26 October 2012

Two of three men charged in American Samoa with second degree murder have accepted plea agreements with the government.

Samoa News reports that Nemaia Poamo and Migo Misa have accepted agreements with prosecutors and will appear in court tomorrow.

However, a co-defendant Sefo Siaulaiga denies the murder charge and will fight his case in a jury trial set for January.

The three men are accused of beating Sio Faumui to death in June 2011 with their hands, rocks and a bottle in the village of Malaeimi.

All three have admitted charges of assault to police.
