A veteran Cook Islands politician Norman George is again taking the Cook Islands News to court over its cartoons.
Mr George has accused the newspaper of criminal libel over two cartoons by political satirist Tim Buchanan.
In his suit, Mr George has named the paper's managing editor John Woods.
He is seeking a total of 1.7 million US dollars in damages and an injunction to stop the cartoons being reproduced.
His previous attempts have been thrown out of court.
